The ACRF BRF has both an Illumina HiSeq2000 and HiSeq2500 sequencing system. The HiSeq2000 instrument can produce 600Gbp of sequence data per run. Additionally, each lane can run 12 samples multiplexed together to save costs.
A happy client recently said this:
A quick analysis of the RNAseq data indicates that the quality is good: there are around 34~71 million total reads for each of the 4 samples, and around 80% matches maize cDNA, with very low levels of ribosomal RNA (<0.5%) (i.e. highly enriched for polyA mRNA).
